What? Twins? HELP!!!!

I found out that I was pregnant with twins when my son was 15 months and my daughter was 3.5.

Having hemmed and hawed for a while about whether or not to have a third child, I was somewhat alarmed, to say the least, to see two little flickers on the ultrasound.

Feeling the beginning of a major freak out, I did what I do best when searching for information: I googled twins.

It was then that I found a wealth of frightening, horrendous, mind blowing information that only served to further my panic.  This search informed me that my babies would steal nutrients from each other and die (TTTS), would be born ridiculously early if I didn’t dedicate my life to bed rest from 16 weeks on and gain at minimum 50 pounds and, my favorite, by that time my belly would be so large that I wouldn’t be able to walk anyway so quitting life wouldn’t be that big of deal.  There were even pictures to prove it.

Nowhere did I find any positive, real life information.  Nowhere did I find a resource that acknowledged the fact, other than a sentence or two, that twins (or other multiples) might not be your first babies.  They might, in fact, be your third, fourth, fifth, sixth and so on.

Nowhere did I find a site that said, “Don’t panic.  You can do this.  Here’s how I’m doing it.”

I want this site to be that resource.  I want other multiple mommies to have a place where they can read about another mommy that might be like them.   A place where they can find solace in the fact that they aren’t the only one dealing with a house of crazy kids, rude people comments and the unique differences in raising singletons and multiples.

I would love for mommies, daddies, grandmas, grandpas or even the curious, regardless of their own baby count, to come read, comment and share their experiences so that we can get through this crazy process together!

I’ll be posting much more soon!
